The School Day

School opening hours

The school day officially begins at 8.50 am (gates open at 8.30 am), with registration and officially ends at 3.20 pm. During the day, the children have a 15-minute break at 10.30 am and an hour for lunch from 12 noon. This school week is 32.5 hours long.

Time of sessions It is essential for a child’s continued progress that absences are kept to a minimum. Parents are strongly urged to avoid routine medical/dental appointments during school hours. Leave of absence will not be authorised for holidays during term time. Hertfordshire County Council have begun to issue fines for unauthorised attendance.
