Dear Parents,
I hope that you have had a happy and peaceful summer holiday, despite the weather!
Warmest wishes to your children as they begin secondary school. I have no doubt that they will continue to achieve highly and contribute positively to their school community, just as they did here.
With best wishes for a successful Autumn Term,
Christina Singh
We hope that you have had a restful break and look forward to welcoming you back to school tomorrow.
On Wednesday 1st March, Mrs Singh was invited to speak at the launch of the Modern Muse project at The House of Commons.
Modern Muse is an online platform designed to inspire the next generation of future leaders by providing girls aged 9 upwards with access to female role models in the workplace.
Mrs Singh spoke about the reasons why Nascot Wood Junior School is supporting Modern Muse and
how the project will support the work of the school with building the confidence of our women of the future.
The speakers at the launch event were:
Jacky Wright, Vice President, Microsoft
Laleh Nassiry-Mahjour, Chief Operations Officer, Modern Muse
Caroline Dinenage MP, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Women, Equalities, and Early Years at the Department for Education
We are delighted to tell you that Nascot Wood Junior School has been chosen as the first Modern Muse target school in the UK. We look forward to seeing the results of this inspiring and innovative partnership with Modern Muse.
We would like to say a special thank you to Lynn O’Connor, who recommended us for the project and has worked so hard to bring it to fruition.
Dear Parents,
This morning, work has started on our school gates to mechanise them in order to help with the traffic flow along Nascot Wood Road/Langley Road and to further improve our site security.
This work will continue for the rest of the week, and possibly into the start of next week. Please take care when entering and exiting the school site.
Dear Parents,
You will probably be aware of the weather warnings and the possibility of snow today and tomorrow for our area.
We intend to open the school, as usual, unless the weather worsens significantly. In which case, we will notify you via the Hertfordshire notification system with which you have registered.

Today we are looking forward to the British tradition, of going to the pantomime at Christmas. We will be watching Beauty and the Beast – a story of love that reminds us to look beyond what we can see. We will be leaving school at approximately 1.15pm for the 2pm show. We are aiming to be back at school by 5pm. Please collect your children from the classroom doors as usual.
